Oct 14-18, TENC vs Surface Design

Reflections on the week:

I become increasingly aware how the ‘work’ becomes less about actual stuff (in this case the making of yarn and objects/products from this yarn using crochet and knitting as techniques). And more about social engagement, community development and what happens between people.

I became aware of this in TENC that the actual work, the art, is in the conversations. In the project with Surface designers, I see too how this is happening in their various projects, and how it happens within their groups as an interpersonal dynamic.

It seems that this is the challenge for humans, and where our work actually lies (our task); how we get on with each other, how we deal with each other.
